Luna Medical, Inc. will verify each patient’s insurance coverage before any products are considered for home management of his/her lymphedema. Any financial obligations will be clearly explained to the patient.
A “Notice of Privacy Practices” form will be signed by the patient or guardian prior to verification of insurance benefits.
We will submit all the necessary documentation to the insurance company for preauthorizations and claim payments of medical products.
We work very closely with physicians, lymphedema therapists, case managers and patients to be sure that the appropriate lymphedema medical products are provided to each patient on a case by case basis.
Since many patients have insurance plans with a $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 cap per year for medical products, it is relevant to work with a company such as Luna Medical in practicing cost containment. We provide acceptable, reasonable and customary allowances to the insurance companies for our specialty, lymphedema medical products.
