Luna Medical, Inc. is a durable medical equipment (DME) company established in 1996 to meet the needs of patients suffering from chronic, extremity circulation disorders. We are solely dedicated to providing compression therapy products for patients diagnosed with Lymphedema and Chronic Venous Disease.
Our main billing office and corporate headquarters are located in Chicago, Illinois. Luna Medical is an authorized provider of compression garments and devices nationwide. We work with lymphedema treatment programs, wound care programs, oncology clinics and vascular clinics throughout the United States.
Our services include assistance in obtaining authorizations for coverage of lymphedema medical products from the insurance company, insurance billing and case management.
We at Luna Medical understand the fears and concerns patients encounter prior, during and after treatment. We provide educational material for the treatment and management of venous and lymphatic insufficiencies, available lymphedema programs in a geographic area and answer questions about lymphedema, including causes, prevention, detection and treatment.

I began Luna Medical in 1996, in response to a need expressed by many local physicians for a company that provides medical equipment and education for patients diagnosed with Lymphedema and Chronic Venous Disease. I graduated in 1989 from the University of Tampa with a dual degree in Business Management and Corporate Fitness and had since been working for medical equipment companies. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to provide continuing education programs (CEUs) to the medical community while working under the guidance of mentors versed in oncology and wound care. This gave me the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge, which I wanted to use to provide medical compression therapy products for the successful treatment and management of lymphatic and venous insufficiencies. Most importantly, I wanted to create a company centered around patients and their needs, including the need for education about their condition.
Since its beginnings 11 years ago, Luna Medical has maintained family ownership. From our headquarters in Chicago, my staff and I now work with patients, lymphedema therapy programs and insurance companies nationwide. We have signed national contracts with Cigna Healthcare, United Healthcare and Humana. We have provider numbers for Blue Cross Blue Shield and Tricare. We are contracted with various medical equipment networks that provide us with the ability to service patients as “in-network” providers for many other insurance companies. For insurance companies we are not contracted with, we continue to submit authorizations to be paid “in-network” due to network deficiencies.
We take pride in the diligent work and care that we put into each one of our customers, and are continually looking for ways to develop our services to better serve them. My thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress possible.
